THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE PURPOSE

Meet Our Founders

Three founders. One shared purpose: creating space for real people to encounter Christ through honest conversation, meaningful fellowship, and service.

Holy Smoke Conversations is a ministry of Legacy Ash & Faith, Inc. Our story brings together vision, community, and compassion around the same table.

01 · VISION & LEGACY

Jonathan Gary

Founder

Making room for faith beyond the four walls.

Holy Smoke Conversations begins with a simple invitation: bring your Bible, bring your questions, and come as you are. As founder, Jonathan Gary gives that invitation a home—a gathering where conversations about everyday life can open the door to Scripture, prayer, and a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.

Jonathan is also the founder of JG Legacy Cigars. Holy Smoke brings his connection to lounge fellowship into a distinct ministry setting, with Christ at the center and room for people from different backgrounds to sit together. The cigar is optional; the opportunity to connect is open to everyone.

His founding story is the story of a vision taking shape: a table becoming a place of fellowship, fellowship becoming encouragement, and encouragement reaching beyond Sunday into the community.

02 · FELLOWSHIP & CONNECTION

Jacoby Waters

Co-Founder

Giving the gathering a foundation.

A welcoming invitation needs a place where people can return, build trust, and grow together. Jacoby’s chapter in the Holy Smoke story centers on that foundation: the practical work that helps a shared vision become a consistent gathering.

As co-founder and the ministry’s operations leader, his role connects the purpose of Holy Smoke with the experience around the table. Making room for discussion, supporting the gathering, and helping the ministry stay organized all serve the same goal: giving fellowship room to take root.

This part of our story is about continuity. One conversation can begin a connection. A community that keeps showing up gives that connection the opportunity to grow.

03 · COMPASSION & COMMUNITY

Seaborn Smith

Co-Founder

Carrying fellowship into service.

The Holy Smoke story continues after the gathering ends. Seaborn’s chapter centers on the connection between faith and practical care—the ministry’s commitment to let conversations lead toward service.

As co-founder, his place in our philanthropy work connects Holy Smoke’s fellowship with its wider community mission. Mentorship, outreach, and partnerships offer ways to turn shared concern into opportunities to help people.

This chapter looks outward: toward a neighbor who needs encouragement, a young person who needs guidance, or a community partner ready to serve alongside us. It gives our fellowship a question to carry into the week: how can we put our faith into action?

One table. A shared mission.

Vision brings us together. Fellowship helps us grow. Service carries the mission forward. Together, our founders are building Holy Smoke Conversations around Bible study, prayer, authentic relationships, and community impact.

Real People. Real Conversations. Real Faith.
